In the past six football seasons, six different teams have won the ACC Coastal Division title. Virginia is the only one that has not. However, the league's media expects that to change this fall. The Cavaliers received 82 first-place votes en route to 1,003 total points, finishing ahead of Miami (55 first-place votes, 992 points) and Virginia Tech (20, 827). Prior to this season, the Wa- hoos had been picked to finish last in the Coastal for each of the past five years. Virginia also picked up one vote to be the overall ACC champi- ons. Not surprisingly, though, defending national champ Clem- son is the runaway favorite to win the league crown after being tabbed on 170 of the 173 ballots (Syracuse received the other two votes).
