commitment profile: jerry tillery Film Analysis Strengths Tillery uses his hands extremely well … Once he gets his hands on the defensive lineman in front of him, a large hole is created on his side … His footwork is also very impressive for a rising junior … Is much better in run support than pass protection … Has a very quick first step, which allows him to gain initial leverage over the opposition … For a tackle that weighs more than 300 pounds, he is not stiff, slow or immobile. Areas To Improve He is an outstanding offensive tackle prospect and there aren't many glaring weaknesses, but one area that needs work is his pass protection … At times, he takes too long of a first step in his drop when he's trying to stay with quick rushers off the edge … He occasionally crosses over with his feet — poor technique for an offensive linemen … His feet could become tangled and he could lose his balance, thus allowing a free run at the quarterback … Once he tightens up his pass protection skills to the same level as his run blocking abilities, the sky is the limit for the talented Pelican State prospect. — Tom Loy tried to play it cool, but there was no holding back.
