JANUARY 2023 THE WOLVERINE 9 BY ANTHONY BROOME M ichigan spent the majority of De- cember preparing for its Fiesta Bowl matchup with the TCU Horned Frogs Dec. 31, but took time out of its schedule to celebrate its accomplish- ments this season during the team ban- quet Dec. 18 at the Jack Roth Stadium Club at Michigan Stadium. Junior running back Blake Corum cleaned up at the event, earning the team's Bo Schembechler Most Valu- able Player Award in addition to com- ing away with Toughest Player and Blue Collar honors. He is the team's first MVP winner at running back since his position coach, Mike Hart, received the honor following the 2007 season. Corum is the second of- fensive player under head coach Jim Har- baugh to be named team MVP following quarterback Shea Patterson in 2019. Senior edge Mike Morris grabbed the team's Richard Katcher Award, which goes out to the top defensive lineman on the roster. Sophomore Junior Col- son earned the Roger Zatkoff Award, which honors the best Michigan line- backer each season. Graduate center Olu Oluwatimi received the Hugh H. Rader award, designated for the team's top offensive lineman. Sixth-year punter Brad Robbins was named the team's recipient of the Rob- ert P. Ufer Bequest, which is awarded Inside Michigan ATHLETICS Michigan Football Announces Winners Of 2022 Team Awards For the second straight season, graduate punter Brad Robbins received the Robert P. Ufer Bequest, which is awarded to the Michigan player that displays the most enthusiasm and love for the university. He is the first player in program history ever to earn this honor twice.
