  commitment profile Jared Wangler Is The Latest From His Family Headed To Michigan By the time he received a Michigan offer Aug. 2, 2013, Jared Wangler didn't need to be informed what a big deal such an offer is. He's known his whole life that the winged helmet is something special. His father, John Wangler, started at quarterback in the 1979 and 1980 seasons. The elder Wangler is best known for the last-second touchdown pass he threw to Anthony Carter that downed Indiana in the 1979 homecoming game in Michigan Stadium. Halle Wangler recently transferred from Oakland University to Michigan, where the junior plans to walk onto the U-M hoops squad. Jack Wangler is a freshman wide receiver for Brady Hoke, after choosing to accept a preferred walk-on offer on National Signing Day in February. With a father who has etched a place in Michigan lore and two older siblings who will don Wangler — whose father, John, started at quarterback for the Wolverines in 1979 and 1980 — notched 86 tackles while lining up at outside linebacker and rover during his junior campaign. photo by tim sullivan
