Michigan Beat
Writers Give
Their Takes On
The Wolverines
By John Borton
t's that time of year, when the
opinions are flying faster than
the latest five-star commitment
rumor. Here's a quick look at
what three of Michigan football's
main beat writers — Angelique
Chengelis of The Detroit News, Mark
Snyder of the Detroit Free Press and
Kyle Meinke of Ann Arbor.com —
think about the Wolverines.
While all see Michigan getting better on offense in the completion of
its move to the pro-style offense, the
trio plays a wait-and-see game with
some aspects of U-M's defense. They
disagree, in interesting and debatable
Devin Gardner's dual-threat ability — he accounted for 18 touchdowns (11 passing and seven
rushing) in five games at QB last fall — will make for a more potent offense in 2013.
