Brandon showed no hesitation in inking U-M head coach John Beilein to a three-year contract extension recently at a significant raise. Beilein, who made $1.8 million last year, earned a bump to $2.45 million per season in a contract that takes him through 2018-19. Beilein's program has fully taken off the past two years, with the run to the national championship contest in 2013 following up a Big Ten championship the year before. Beilein served as an assistant coach at the World University Games this summer in Russia. He noted his satisfaction at garnering the contract extension at a place that he said is a perfect fit for him and the ideals he has in coaching. "I am grateful that President [Mary Sue] Coleman and Dave Brandon are pleased with the direction of our program and have extended this offer of agreement," Beilien said.
