officiating crew spotted the Notre Dame
infraction of two
players wearing the
same jersey number on the field, the
chance to play for the
national title might
have ended.
No. 11 will be worn
a second year in a
row by senior quarterback Tommy Rees
and junior outside
linebacker Ishaq Williams, while senior
quarterback Andrew
Hendrix and freshman cornerback
Devin Butler will don
No. 12. That means
11 of the first 12 numbers will be shared on
offense and defense.
