Under the Dome 25.8 Points per game averaged by Notre Dame (78th in the country) last year while finishing No. 4 in the final BCS poll. Among the grant-in-aid players, the breakdown is: six fifth-year seniors, 17 fourth-year seniors, 22 juniors (including defensive end Chase Hounshell who has been ruled out from action this season because of a second surgery to his shoulder); 14 sophomores (including safety Nicky Baratti, who is sidelined for the season because of dislocated shoulder, and safety Chris Badger, who enrolled in the spring of 2010 prior to a two-year Mormon mission); and 23 freshmen. 293 Career starts on Notre Dame's offense and defense entering the 2013 football season, with 149 on offense and 144 on defense. Fifth-year senior left tackle Zack Martin has the most with 39, followed by senior wideout TJ Jones (30) and fifth-year senior left guard Chris Watt (26). Tops on defense are senior nose guard Louis Nix III and fifth-year senior inside linebacker Dan Fox with 22 apiece.
