Complementary Bloomers
Players that don't immediately emerge as difference makers at Notre Dame have a tendency to fall off
the radar. Their potential takes a back seat to the promise of exciting new faces in the freshman class.
This year's group of rookies has an abundance of players ready to contribute, but there are plenty of
possible breakout players who have a year or two of experience in South Bend. Below is our list of five
athletes that could outplay their expectations in 2013.
1. OLB Ishaq Williams — The 6-5, 261-pound junior has been incrementally working his way out of
senior Prince Shembo's shadow for the past two years. Williams will have more opportunities to do damage this season while splitting time between outside linebacker and defensive end. Defensive coordinator
Bob Diaco praised the improvement the Brooklyn, N.Y., product has made in how he approaches the
Junior Ishaq Williams, who made 28 stops and 4.5 tackles for loss the past two seasons, has showed
some signs that he could give the Irish pass rush another big-time weapon.
