Predicted Order Of Big Ten Finish 1. Minnesota 2012-13 Record: 26-9-5. Head Coach: Don Lucia. Top Player: Junior forward Kyle Rau. Top Incoming Freshman: Forward Taylor Cammarata. Summary: The No. 1 overall seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, Minnesota was knocked off in the first round by eventual NCAA champion Yale, and now the Gophers are angry and ready to finish what they started a year ago. 2. Michigan 2012-13 Record: 18-19-3. Head Coach: Red Berenson. Top Player: Senior defenseman Mac Bennett. Top Incoming Freshman: Forward J.T. Compher. Summary: After missing out on the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 23 seasons, the Wolverines are determined to return to the 16-team postseason and contend for the Big Ten title. Experienced and talented forwards must take the lead while U-M's defensive corps matures. 3. Wisconsin 2012-13 Record: 22-13-7. Head Coach: Mike Eaves. Top Player: Junior defenseman Jake McCabe. Top Incoming Freshman: Forward Grant Besse. Summary: The preseason Big Ten favorite according to a media poll, the Badgers feature a veteran-laden roster with a pair of dynamic goalies, perhaps the best defenseman in the conference in Jack McCabe, and a rising star at forward in Nic Kerdiles. 4. Ohio State 2012-13 Record: 16-17-7. Head Coach: Steve Rohlik. Top Player: Junior forward Ryan Dzingel. Top Incoming Freshman: Forward Nick Schilkey. Summary: The Mark Osiecki era lasted just three unproductive seasons before the OSU brass brought in Rohlik. The Buckeyes have too many resources to be the middling program they have been for the better part of the past two decades. 5. Michigan State 2012-13 Record: 14-25-3. Head Coach: Tom Anastos.
