the flight and I looked at him and just told him that I wanted to go to Notre Dame. He was really happy for me and he said, 'Good. That's what I was hoping.' He hadn't done that before. That was the first time that he gave me his opinion. He definitely let me make my own choice." Samuel Clemens head coach Jared Johnson believes that Notre Dame is the perfect fit for his star defensive end. Knowing Hill for the past four years, Johnson believes that Fighting Irish fans will love him on Saturdays. "I've coached Kolin for two years, and he's a high-character kid off the field and he's very intense on the field," Johnson said. "He carries him- self very well and he's going to be very successful in life, whether football works out or not. He's a great practice player, he has a great work ethic and it wouldn't surprise if he's up for being named captain when he's a senior at Notre Dame. "On the field, there is very little he can't do. He plays really fast, hits re- ally hard and does the little things right, too. He is always in the right po- sition, and he is a pain to the offensive linemen when he's rushing." ✦ FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Hill gives maximum effort all the time … He's quick off the snap and is relentless in pursuing the football … He's very disruptive and aggres- sive when rushing the passer … He's very ath- letic and has excellent speed … He was clocked at 4.56 in the 40-yard dash in the summer head- ing into his senior season. Areas To Improve Much of his competition ran the ball in high school, and he will need to improve his ability to defend the pass … He will need to develop his technique and coverage skills during year one in South Bend … There are question marks whether he can play in space, but he could make an ideal Cat linebacker in time.
