Taylor Swearingen, softball: During
her career at Canyon High School
in Anaheim, Calif., Swearingen bat-
ted an impressive .366 with 22 home
runs and 94 RBI in 106 games. She
also had 31 doubles among her 96

"Taylor is a big kid, at around 6-0,"
Hutchins said. "She has a big stick as
well, and that's what makes her so
special. We are going to lose a lot of
good talent from our team, and Tay-
lor is one of those kids who can come
in and have an impact."
Aside from having one of the best
college softball programs in the
country, Michigan is also a great aca-
demic institution, which bodes well
for Swearingen. Her GPA is 4.50, and
she is a member of the National Hon-
ors Society. ❑
