Basketball: Four of Michigan's five recruits are ranked among the top 120
players nationally by All Star Girls Report, with point guard Katelynn Flaherty
at No. 19, forward Emoni Jackson No. 85, guard Jillian Dunston at No. 98 and
guard Maria Blackman rounding out the list at No. 117. Proctorville, Ohio,
product Terra Stapleton is not ranked, but the 6-4 center is expected to be of
great help.
"This class has the potential be a special class, a group that makes a great
impact on our program," head coach Kim Barnes Arico said. "The other great
part about it is that they are all different but valuable in their own way. They
are all 'Michigan' kids. They are great students, they are great people and they
come from great families."
Soccer: The class goes nine deep, with four coming from the talent-rich
East Coast and four from Michigan, including Rochester's Taylor Timko, who is
ranked as the No. 46 recruit nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
Overall, five of the recruits were awarded four stars by the website, with Timko
and Megan Hinz (No. 64) among the top 100.
"This class has a little bit of everything," head coach Greg Ryan said. "We're
adding depth at every position on the field, but the best part about this class
is that every player is athletic and skillful.
