  INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MAIZE AND BLUE NOTEBOOK COACHING CHANGES • Matt Anderson resigned his post as the head coach of the water polo team following 12 seasons, U-M an- nounced April 29. "I have really enjoyed my time leading the Michigan women's wa- ter polo program for the past 12 years," Anderson said in a release. "I want to thank all of the student- athletes that represented our pro- gram in the pool, classroom and community. This past year's team was an enjoyable group of players to coach, and I want to thank them for their dedication. I wish everyone associated with Michigan athletics the best in the future." A three-time Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Association Coach of the Year, Anderson went 332-133 during his career, leading Michigan to the eight-team NCAA Championships field in 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010, with a fifth-place finish in 2009. He led U-M to division titles from 2003- 10 and again in 2012. Dur ing his tenure, Anderson coached 24 All-Americans, includ- ing goalie Betsey Armstrong, who backstopped Team USA to the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olym- pics. • Bruce Berque is out as the men's tennis coach after 10 seasons, the university athletic department an- nounced May 12.
