FROM OUR READERS A VOLLEYBALL REMINDER Dear The Wolverine: Last year's volleyball results were not what I envisioned for a veteran team coming off a Final Four ap- pearance. Each team starts anew and 2014's will be without graduating players who provided 61 percent of 2013's kills, 72 percent of its blocks and just over half of the digs. Senior Lexi Dannemiller is back at setter, where she has an opportunity to break the U-M career record for as- sists. Libero Tiffany Morales has two more seasons to reach the Wolverine career digs mark. A top-10 class of incoming first year players will be joining the team this fall. Seven home matches are paired with the Utah, Penn State and Indiana football weekends. All but one match will be played at Cliff Keen Arena. The Friday matches coinciding with the Utah football game begin at 11:30 a.m. at Crisler Center. The post-PSU match is 1 p.m. Sunday against Nebraska. Road schedules for volleyball and football do not mesh at all this season. This team should make it to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth consecutive season (and 15 of the last 18). It will be as hard playing and enthusiastic a group of Wolverine athletes as there is on the campus. Check 'em out. Go Blue! Jim Supance Tiffin, Ohio Thanks for the reminder, Jim. It's that time of year. Volleyball head coach Mark Rosen will look to guide the Wolverines to the NCAA Tournament for a ninth consecutive season this fall.
