Recruiting Notes With the recruiting process moving much faster these days, Notre Dame has already extended 48 schol- arship offers to recruits from the class of 2016. Blue & Gold Illustrated takes a look at three junior prospects that hold offers from the Irish. • Notre Dame continues to recruit one of the nation's top playmakers in the class of 2016, even though he's committed elsewhere. Tampa (Fla.) Catholic four-star wide receiver Nate Craig pledged to Auburn July 21, but that hasn't stopped the Irish coaching staff from filling up his mailbox. "Notre Dame still reaches out, sends mail, sends letters," the 6-2, 205-pounder said. "I appreciate it. It's still really early in recruiting, and Notre Dame was a big offer for me. It's pretty cool to still hear from them." Notre Dame first offered May 14, and it was clear the Irish were going to be in the mix throughout the process. "Notre Dame has one of the best programs in college football and one of the best traditions," Craig said. "They have some big-time receivers, and they offer a great education. In our household, that's most impor- tant. My mom preached about education all the time."
