On putting up points against the nation's top scoring defense: "It just shows that we're a dynamic offense that can make a lot of big plays. That was the No. 1 defense in the country and we scored in two minutes. … "It just shows that we're dynamic and we can make plays in a big-time situation against a big-time team." On being 5-0: "It feels great. We're going to celebrate it tonight, celebrate it tomorrow, and then we'll look at film and go right back at it." Notre Dame senior quarterback Everett Golson … On the winning play: "It felt like the whole thing happened in slow mo- tion. I distinctly remember just look- ing at my first read and kind of rolling out. "It was real slow and I'm like, 'Okay he's open. Why are you not throwing it to him?' " On being 5-0: "It feels pretty good just knowing where we are in our pro- gression. We've still got a long way to go. But I'm not too upset with being 5-0 while we're still where we are." On handling what could be a tu- multuous week with No. 1 Florida State on the horizon and results of the ongoing academic dishonesty in- vestigation expected: "Every week is a very distracting week at Notre Dame. We're just going to do what we normally do. "Go to practice every day and focus on North Carolina. They're a good team. We've got to give our best effort or else we're going to get beat." Stanford head coach David Shaw … On Notre Dame's game-winning touchdown and what coverage the Cardinal was playing: "There was no coverage on the Notre Dame touch- down pass. That sounds sarcastic, but he was wide open. There was nobody on him. … We didn't cover the guy that caught the touchdown pass." On if a close loss hurts more than most losses: "Losing is losing, and when you're in sports, you win and you lose. We've won more than we lost, but every single loss hurts." Stanford senior linebacker Kevin Anderson … On his team's attitude after the loss: "It's tough coming across the country to lose the game. We came here with one purpose: to win the game. You do not do that, it is frustrating. "It feels a lot like two years ago when it came down to the last play, and it's frustrating not to come out on top." Stanford senior running back Re- mound Wright … On the Notre Dame defense: "They were about what we expected. I'm not sure they were doing much. I think all the fault lies with our offense. We didn't execute. "We had great chances to make plays, and a couple inches here, a couple inches there … We didn't re- ally do that great a job. We stopped ourselves."
