BY ANDREW OWENS M idway through the fourth quarter of Notre Dame's 31‑15 win versus Syra‑ cuse Sept. 27, senior quar‑ terback Everett Golson flung a quick swing pass toward sophomore Co‑ rey Robinson, but the receiver had no chance on the attempt thrown too far behind him. Golson shook his head in frustra‑ tion, not even knowing the full extent of his incompletion — which ended his consecutive completions streak at 25, one short of the Football Bowl Subdivision record. Not until the fol‑ lowing Wednesday at media inter‑ views did Robinson realize the play's significance. "What record? I had no idea," he said when posed a question about the play. "Really? Wow. Go figure. That's great for Everett. I had no idea. That's awesome. "Now I feel bad. Maybe I should've dove or something."
