UNDER THE DOME Irish student-athletes excelling on the field and in the classroom Barbara Sullivan — Lacrosse After leading the ACC in caused turnovers per game (1.75) and ranking fifth in draw controls per game (4.15), the senior defender earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors May 5. Sullivan helped the Irish claim wins over three top-10 programs in 2015, setting the single-season school record for draw controls (85) in the process. Thanks in part to Sullivan, the Irish ranked third nationally in turnovers per game (11.05) and held 10 opponents to single-digit outputs. Talia Campbell — Golf The junior golfer was among 12 players named to the 2015 All-ACC team, making her the first athlete to receive that dis- tinction in program history. She previously earned All-Big East honors in 2013, putting her in an exclusive club of only 10 golfers in school history to be named two-time all-conference. Campbell shot a 5-over-par 221 (77-73-71) and tied for 19th at the NCAA Regional May 7-9 in Notre Dame, Ind. Quentin Monaghan — Tennis The junior, who was ranked No. 9 nationally in singles as of May 14, earned first-team All-ACC honors April 27 after amass- ing a 20-3 dual match record in 2015, marking the third time he received postseason accolades. He also was third-team All-ACC as a sophomore and was named the Big East Freshman of the Year in 2013. Monaghan won 12 straight matches from March 15-April 10, including wins over the No. 3, No. 11 and No. 12 players nationally. Matt Landis — Lacrosse The junior defender received ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors from the league's five head coaches April 28, playing a key role for the squad that finished 9-2 in the regular season and ranked No. 2 nationally in polls. Landis helped the defense hold opponents to 9.15 goals per game, collecting 29 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers as of May 18. TOP OF THE CLASS
