know the staff still wants him, but he also wanted to make sure that the linebacker was going to follow through on his word, and that meant ac- cepting the invite to the Irish Invasion which was sent out by the staff back in March. "Lately, they have been coming on stronger than they usually have been," Kelly said shortly after the visit from Denbrock. "Him coming was real cool. … He said pretty much one of the only guys he's going to recruit in Fresno is me. It's special." But special doesn't explain why Kelly wants to make the trip. The linebacker could visit anywhere this summer and get plenty of attention with more than 30 scholarship of- fers to his name, but he claims that the lure of the Irish Invasion and how it ties into Notre Dame is what has him flying across the country. "It's a big-name school, but it's a close community over there," Kelly said. "Players always want to have a family feel, and I do too. So going out there, I think it's going to be cool." Robinson agrees. The cornerback, who committed to Kentucky last October and won the state Class 3A 100-meter dash as a sophomore, said the Irish started hint- ing at a summer visit and the Irish Invasion right when they offered a scholarship in early April. "They have a lot of history, and I've always wanted to visit there because it's just a great program," he said. "I have talked only to defensive backs coach Todd Lyght a few times, but I'd like to get to know him better." That push to get prospects commit- ted to making a visit is what Elston hoped to do when he took his new post. He claims that he wasn't ready to give the entire event a makeover; instead he wanted to take it to the next level when it came to getting the right prospects on campus. "We have put together a plan of set- ting the dates and getting people here — that's the biggest thing — and then we'll worry about, 'Here is the num- ber of people coming, what can we do?'" he said. Some answers will be forthcoming in the coming month. IRISH INVASION VISITORS As of May 18 2016 5-star Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West LB Caleb Kelly 4-star Monroe (La.)
