two nights and three days on campus with the coaches, he knew that Notre Dame was where he wanted to be. He just had to make things official, and that meant decommitting from Florida and flipping to the Irish. "It was just a combination of great academics and great football." Perry said looking back on his decision. "Notre Dame was a fit." It wasn't just the school and the football program that stood out, but it was Irish defensive backs coach Todd Lyght, as well. "Coach Lyght has actually been where I want to be," Perry said. "He has played in the NFL, he has been an All-American at the collegiate level and he knows how to craft a DB. He's a good coach, too." Lyght, who was a consensus All- American at Notre Dame in 1989 and FILM ANALYSIS Strengths Excellent size and versatility … Could play strong safety, nickel or even grow into a linebacker … Im- pressive downhill speed, which he uses to excel stepping into the box and defending against the run … Displays good instincts in the pass game, especially in zone coverage … Makes good reads and drives well on the football … Matches up well against tight ends and backs. Areas For Improvement He tends to tackle high and needs to learn to dip his hips and drive through contact … Must work on flexibility and loosening up his hips … Has some limitations in tight man coverage against receivers. — Bryan Driskell
