PREP PROFILES Mansfield (Ohio) Madison Com- prehensive safety Tyrell Ajian doesn't just talk the "humble" talk — he walks it. "I always try to i m p ro v e e v e r y - t h i n g I c a n d o , I d o n ' t t h i n k I can ever be good enough at doing anything on the field," Ajian said. "I feel that I can always get better." That's a mature take for one of the top safety prospects nationally in the 2017 class. Allen already holds offers from Notre Dame, Tennessee, Michi- gan and Cincinnati among others. He visited campus for Irish Inva- sion, and while he didn't work out at the camp, he engaged in communica- tions with the Notre Dame coaches about what it takes to play in their program. "The best part of the Invasion was probably the coaches, just making it fun and showing us everything that the college is about during the Junior Day part of it," Ajian said. "I got to talk to a couple of coaches including Coach [Brian] Kelly, and they were just talking about the ex- pectations of playing there." The visit was so successful that Ajian hopes to make a return trip to South Bend for a football game this fall, though he hasn't pinned down a date yet. One thing that is certain — the Irish are in- volved in Ajian's recruitment as it continues build- ing into his junior year. "I'd say I stand in a really good spot with Notre Dame," Ajian said. "The tradition, ac- ademics and how everyone around there at Notre Dame feels — they all seem like really good people." A dual-sport athlete, Ajian has also been successful on the basketball court, picking up first-team Division 1 All-District 6 honors from coaches after averaging 17.0 points per game as a sophomore. Then in football, he's ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 216 overall player in the country and No. 16 nationally at his position in the class of 2017. It's still early in his football recruit- ment, so he doesn't have any timeline set up for a decision yet. He's just enjoying the process and working on taking trips to see which schools feel right. "I'm just looking at schools where I could fit best," Allen said. — Jordan Wells Irish Make Strong Impression On Ohio Junior Safety TYRELL AJIAN Madison Comprehensive Mansfield, Ohio.
