Notre Dame has never signed a Ri-
vals100 prospect out of the state of
Texas.
The Irish have come close, but just
have not been able to seal the deal.
That won't be the case in 2017.
Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair four-star
tight end Brock Wright gave a verbal
pledge to Notre Dame on June 26.
Wright, who Rivals.com ranks as the
No. 30 overall prospect in the country,
is regarded as one of the top tight ends
in all of high school football and is
Notre Dame's top tight end target on
the board regardless of class.
While he won't ink any type of pa-
perwork for at least 15 months, he
should be the prospect that breaks
the Irish's dry spell in the Lone Star
State.
"Notre Dame has always been one
of my favorite schools," Wright said.
