For three five-day stretches over the month — beginning on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and end- ing the following Sunday at 5 p.m. — coaches are on the road attend- ing games featuring their top targets, while also evaluating other potential prospects. It was a grinding 15 evalua- tion days squeezed into a 19-day span, with tournaments scattered across dif- ferent regions of the country. Notre Dame's staff enjoyed a heavy presence at the adidas Gauntlet Finale in Atlanta from July 8-11, with even head coach Mike Brey in attendance. CENTER JARRETT ALLEN DOMINATES COMPETITION Despite a subpar outing in his final contest and a poor free-throw shoot- ing week, Austin (Texas) St. Stephens five-star center Jarrett Allen contin- ued to shine in front of Notre Dame's coaches. The 6-10, 215-pound big man plays for Texas P.R.O. and averaged 17.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in 29.8 minutes per game at the adidas Gauntlet Finale, with the Irish staff in attendance for three of his four contests, including Brey for two.
