PREP PROFILES Michigan's coaching staff has al‑ ready reeled in four talented offen‑ sive linemen in the 2016 class, but it may not be done yet. A number of highly ranked prospects are still on the board at the position, perhaps none higher than Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha guard Terrance Davis. T h e 6 ‑ 4 , 307‑pound Davis is Rivals.com's No. 2 offensive guard and No. 46 overall prospect nationally, and its top player in his home state. M i c h i g a n o f ‑ fensive line coach Tim Drevno has made it clear that he's a big‑time target. "He always tells me I'm his guy every time I get on the phone," Da‑ vis said. "They really like my style of play. I'm a downhill blocker, and that's why they really want me." Although he's remained open in the recruiting process, Davis has admitted that the Maize and Blue have made a special impact on him. That lead is so great that if all goes well during his official visit to Ann Arbor over Thanksgiving weekend, it may not be long before he decides he wants to don the winged helmet. "They definitely have a lead on the field," he said. "My official there, that's going to be a big factor if I commit or not. I'm aiming for when Ohio State comes into The Big House." His other suitors include a who's‑ who of national programs, but Alabama, Georgia, Maryland and UCLA joined the Wo l v e r i n e s o n his narrowed list, released at the beginning of fall. However, the season hasn't gone so well in Col‑ lege Park, with head coach Randy Edsall recently relieved of his du‑ ties. That development could ben‑ efit Michigan, but it could also open the door to other contenders. Geor‑ gia and Florida are now more seri‑ ous competition to Michigan, with the chance to steal him away. "If today were signing day, Davis would sign with Michigan," Rivals. com Mid‑Atlantic recruiting analyst Adam Friedman said. "The Wolver‑ ines have been his leader since his visit this offseason. Maryland is in second and will likely get his fifth official visit. Georgia is the dark horse." — Tim Sullivan Big Maryland Lineman Likes Wolverines ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ DeMatha Catholic High School Hyattsville, Md.
