5. QB Deshaun Watson – Clemson: Started five games in 2014, when he com- pleted 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 1,466 yards and 14 touchdowns against only two picks. This year, Watson has led Clemson to a 6-0 mark, completing 117 of 171 passes (68.4 percent) for 1,423 yards with 14 TDs and seven interceptions; he has also rushed for 234 yards and two scores. 6. RB Jalen Hurd — Tennessee: Hurd wasted no time asserting himself, leading the Volunteers in rushing with 899 yards and five scores in 13 games last season. In six games this year through Oct. 20, he has 569 yards and seven touchdowns. 7. S Quin Blanding — Virginia: A starter in 12 games in 2014, Blanding finished second in the ACC with 123 tackles. In six contests this season through Oct. 20, he leads the Cavaliers in stops with 48, including one for loss. 8. DB Jabrill Peppers — Michigan: Forced to take a redshirt in 2014 after an early-season knee injury, Peppers has emerged as Michigan's most versatile de- fensive player this fall. He has posted 23 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and five pass breakups, in addition to seven kickoff returns for 180 yards (25.7-yard average), 14 punt returns for 144 yards (10.3) and two catches for 35 yards (17.5). 9. WR Travis Rudolph — Florida State: A Freshman All-American in 2014 after making 38 grabs for 555 yards and four touchdowns, Rudolph was one of FSU's leading receivers through six games this fall with 28 grabs for 277 yards and three scores. 10. CB Jalen Tabor — Florida: A solid cover man, with eight pass breakups and an interception his rookie year, Tabor is proving tougher to throw against this fall, recording four pass breakups, two picks and two tackles for loss in six games. — Michael Spath Former five-star recruit Quin Blanding ranked second in the ACC with 123 tackles as a true freshman and has totaled 48 stops in six contests this year.
