Defensive Line: A+
Reason For The Grade: Operating pri-
marily in a 3-4 look this season, with a
stand-up Buck linebacker that is a de
facto fourth pass rusher, the line has
crushed the spirit of opposing quarter-
backs and rushing attacks.
Though stopping the run is a team
effort, the line has been primarily re-
sponsible for limiting opponents to
64.7 rushing yards per game and 2.1
yards per carry (both marks ranked sec-
ond nationally through Oct. 17), with its
six rotating linemen accounting for 30
tackles behind the line of scrimmage,
totaling 147 negative yards.
Redshirt juniors Chris Wormley, Matt
Godin, Ryan Glasgow and Willie Henry,
junior Taco Charlton and redshir t
sophomore Maurice Hurst have also
accounted for 16 of Michigan's 19 sacks,
and are hitting opposing signal callers
with such consistent ferocity that game
after game QBs have struggled, com-
The defensive front, led by redshirt junior defensive end Willie Henry, has suffocated oppo-
nents, allowing just 64.7 rushing yards per game.
