INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS me. If I've had a tough week academically or haven't played well in the gym, I go up there and I see those kids, and it's uplifting. "The parents always thank us and tell us how much it means to the kids, but I honestly think that I get more out of it than the kids do. It's a moving experience." Cole is a sports management major with an interest in the business side of the sports industry. She hasn't settled in on a specific career just yet, but thinks she could see herself in an athletic department at a university. With her drive, support system and developed abilities from being a student-athlete at U-M, the sky is the limit for her. — Brandon Brown Getting To Know Freshman Guard Lauren "Boogie" Brozoski All the way from Cambria Heights (N.Y.) Long Island Lutheran, freshman guard Lauren "Boogie" Brozoski is part of a young and talented University of Michigan women's basketball team that got off to a 7-1 start. Brozoski played in all eight games and was averaging 17.1 minutes per contest. She's been productive with her minutes, too, tying for the team lead with 12 steals while averaging 8.9 points per game. Nickname: "Boogie. Growing up my dad was a basketball fiend and he used to play in the parks. He had this friend named Laurence, but he went by 'L Boo- gie.' Just playing around, growing up, he said that my game reminded him of 'L Boogie.' So, long story short, I wore that name on the back of a T-shirt at an AAU tryout and it just stuck." Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor: "I'd say Mr. Spots." Best meal she can cook by herself: "I'm a breakfast person. I would have to say eggs, toast and bacon." Sports she plays besides basketball: "Growing up, I played football in fifth grade with the boys, and we actually won a championship. I also played softball." Hobbies: "I like to sleep. I'm not much of a reader and I don't do art or anything, so I like to just relax and hang out." Favorite TV show: "Definitely 'Empire.'" Favorite movie: "Whew, this is hard. I really love Alicia Keys and I really like 'The Secret Life Of Bees.'" Favorite basketball venue: "I played at the University of North Carolina, and I thought that was the coolest thing. Taking in that environment and where Mi- chael Jordan played was great." Favorite professional athlete: "Dianna Taurasi."
