ichigan's 2016 recruiting class
has already seen some attrition,
with Southfield (Mich.) High four-star
running back Matt Falcon flipping to
Western Michigan when the opportu-
nity to play football in Ann Arbor was
eliminated due to knee injuries. On
Dec. 6, another prospect opted to look
elsewhere.
Norco (Calif.) High quarterback Vic-
tor Viramontes earned a Michigan of-
fer at the Wolverines' June 13 satellite
camp in Fresno, Calif., and committed
to become a Wolverine two days later.
Rivals.com's No. 19 dual-threat quar-
terback nationally and No. 52 senior in
California opted to open things up just
a few days after visiting for the Wol-
verines' regular-season finale against
Ohio State Nov. 28.
"After talking it over with my fam-
ily, I have decided to decommit from
the University of Michigan and reopen
my recruiting process," he said. "I'd
like to personally thank Coach [Jim]
Harbaugh and the staff for the great
opportunity. I would also like to thank
the Michigan fans for being great along
the process. I wish Michigan the best
of luck."
The 6-0, 214-pounder participated in
the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Balti-

Viramontes, the No. 19 dual-threat quarterback in the country according to Rivals.com, likely
would have switched to H-Back or linebacker at U-M, so he decided to reopen his recruit-
ment to find a place where he can play under center.
