O
ver the course of their existence,
national high school All-America
games — beginning with the inau-
gural U.S. Army All-American Bowl
in 2001, plus the Under Armour All-
America Game, the Semper Fidelis
All-America Game and the Offense-
Defense All-American Bowl — have
been an opportunity for future college
standouts to showcase their talents
against the best players in the land.
Since defensive back Marlin Jackson
and linebacker Pierre Woods head-
lined Michigan participants in the
first U.S. Army All-American Bowl,
the Wolverines have been well rep-
resented.
The high-water mark for U-M com-
mits in all-star games was 2013, when
six Wolverines (offensive linemen
David Dawson, Pat Kugler and Lo-
gan Tuley Tillman, linebacker Mike
McCray, defensive lineman Henry
Poggi and quarterback Shane Morris)
were selected to the Under Armour
Game; five (defensive backs Dymonte
Thomas and Jourdan Lewis, tight end
Jake Butt, offensive lineman Chris
Fox and running back Derrick Green)
were invited to the Army game; and
five (defensive tackle Maurice Hurst,
defensive back Ross Douglas, defen-
sive end Taco Charlton, offensive line-
man Kyle Bosch and running back
Wyatt Shallman) were picked to the
