COMMITMENT PROFILE The recruiting process has been a bit rocky for Houston Westside defensive tackle Jordan Elliott. The three-star prospect committed to Baylor in January 2015, but ultimately decided that Waco, Texas, wasn't for him just three months later. In late June, he decided he'd like to stay close to home and committed to the Houston Cougars, only to renege on that pledge in September. E l l i o t t v e r b a l l y committed to a school for the third time when he chose Michi- gan Nov. 28, but the 6 - 5 , 3 0 0 - p o u n d e r swears that this time is different. "It's different this time because I actu- ally have support from everyone," Elliott explained. "My mom wasn't really on board with those other decisions. She sup- ported me, but didn't think it was the best fit for me. "This time she's fully supportive. We are both confident in the decision I made. I really want to be at Michigan for the next four years." Michigan head coach Jim Har- baugh, defensive line coach Greg Mat- tison and director of player personnel Chris Partridge all had a hand in con- vincing Elliott that Ann Arbor was the place for him, but it was more than just that. The "foot- ball gods" gave him sign after sign that he should choose U-M. Elliott couldn't help but laugh and follow the universe's lead. "There were a few signs," Elliott said. "I was at a barber shop one day, wearing a regular black shirt, no signs that I even played football, and a guy walked up to me and said, 'You need to go to Michigan.' He pulled like a class ring out or something and was telling me all about the school and why I should go there. "Another time I was in the mall, just walking with my friends, and a random guy just comes up to me and started talking to me about Michigan football. He said he played there from like 1978-81 or something like that. "Another time I was at school and the wrestling coach, I had never met him before, came up to me and shook my hand.
