picked as the most valuable player," Harbaugh noted. Chesson led the list of award win- ners on the night. The others are as follows: • Senior tight end Michael Jocz earned the Dr. Arthur D. Robinson Scholarship Award, as Michigan's top senior scholar. He played in six games as a Wolverine, while earning the top grade-point average on the team. He's a mechanical engineer- ing major in Michigan's School of Engineering and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2014. "I'd like to thank Coach Harbaugh, and [tight ends coach] Jay Harbaugh for forgiving me for my occasional tardiness to practice, every Thurs- day and Tuesday in the spring," Jocz quipped. "I'm pretty sure I had the worst attendance for spring, and I'm still looking forward to my worst-atten- dance T-shirt." • Senior linebacker Joe Bolden garnered the Robert P. Ufer Bequest, given annually to the Michigan senior who "demonstrates the most enthu- siasm and love for the University of Michigan." Bolden paced U-M's defense with 76 tackles, recovering one fumble and posting six tackles for loss. He recorded 263 tackles, including 18 TFLs and five sacks along with two fumble recoveries, over the course of his career. An emotional Bolden referenced former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr 's recently passed grandson, Chad Carr, in his acceptance speech. "I thought about Chad Carr … the impact he's had on me this entire foot- ball season," Bolden offered. "There is no doubt in my mind, he was with us every step of the way, every play this year. I just think about him every day. "I'm sure they appreciate the prayers. Keep them coming, and don't forget about him." Bolden also hailed former head coach Brady Hoke, under whose reign he entered Ann Arbor. He also thanked assistant coach Greg Mat- tison, who was coordinating U-M's defense when he arrived and who will be doing so against Florida in the Citrus Bowl. During his speech, interim Director of Athletics Jim Hackett recalled his own time at the Bust and told the team they had, "achieved notoriety that we haven't achieved in almost eight years."
