Wide Receiver: A-
Midterm Grade: B+
Reason For The Grade: In most
years, Michigan's inability to de-
velop a consistent third receiver
would have proven costly, but the
Wolverines could turn to junior tight
end Jake Butt this year.
Still, U-M rotated through a list of
No. 3 wideouts — junior Da'Mario
Jones, freshman Grant Perry, and
redshirt freshmen Maurice Ways and
Drake Harris — who combined for
only 19 receptions and 158 receiving
yards.
That might be the only pockmark,
however, on a receiving corps that
was considered a likely weakness for
the Maize and Blue this season and
instead developed into a strength.
Redshirt junior Amara Darboh
proved reliable from the start, catch-
ing eight balls for 101 yards and a
score in the opener. He did have
a few too many drops this season
(unofficially 10), but Darboh was
someone that Rudock could count
on week after week to make the
routine, and sometimes even the
spectacular, reception, including a
21-yard one-handed, full-extension
Redshirt junior wideout Jehu Chesson combined with classmate Amara Darboh for 101
catches, which gained 1,349 yards and 13 touchdowns. Chesson also rushed for 155 yards
and two scores.
