MICHIGAN RECRUITING unofficial visits to Ann Arbor during the offseason, and returned for the Wolverines' 38-0 win over Northwest- ern Oct. 10. Bush did not take an official visit to Ann Arbor — a byproduct of a success- ful senior season that saw him reach the state title game in Florida's 8A (largest) classification. The teammate of three-star defensive back pledges Devin Gil and Josh Metellus has long been one of Michigan's top targets. Detroit King teammates Lavert Hill and Donnie Corley also intend to make a decision in mid-December, though a specific date for their combined an- nouncement had not been established as of Dec. 9. Corley, a 6-2, 187-pound wide re- ceiver, is listed as the No. 2 recruit in Michigan and the No. 70 overall player in the country. He has long held a U-M offer, but Michigan State, Notre Dame and Tennessee have the buzz at the late stages of his process. Hill, a 5-11, 173-pound defensive back, is the No. 4 senior in Michigan and the No. 194 overall prospect na- tionally. The younger brother of U-M junior safety Delano Hill decommit- ted from Penn State in early December and, unless he is set on playing his college ball with Corley, could be Ann Arbor-bound. The remainder of Michigan's most realistic 2016 targets plan to make Jan- uary decisions. The Maize and Blue boast 20 pledges, and with a class that could reach as many as 28 signees, there's plenty of time for late drama on the recruiting trail. — Tim Sullivan EARLY ENROLLMENT The trend in recent years has been for several prospects to graduate from high school early and enroll for the winter semester at the school of their choice. That has held true at Michigan, though only two prospects — quarter- back Alex Malzone and wide receiver Brian Cole — enrolled at Michigan last January. Malzone ultimately red- shirted during the 2015 season. This year's group of mid-term en- rollees should be much larger. Several commitments already plan to join in January, with a number of uncommit- ted recruits still on the table possibly doing the same. Avon (Ind.) High quarterback Bran- don Peters, Prattville (Ala.) High run- ning back Kingston Davis, Egg Harbor City (N.J.) Cedar Creek wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell, Dudley (Mass.) Shep- herd Hill tight end Sean McKeon, Boulder (Colo.) Fairview defensive end Carlo Kemp and Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic defensive back Ant- waine Richardson all intend to become Wolverines early enough to go through 2016 spring practice. Those six players — along with any others that end up in Ann Arbor at the beginning of the winter semester — can form a nucleus that brings great success to the Maize and Blue. Peters, Mitchell and Kemp are Rivals250 pros- pects, while the rest, all three-stars, have the opportunity to prepare for their freshman year with an offseason of conditioning and spring practice. The group can get an even bigger boost if others are added. Wayne (N.J.)
