INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS is opening, which is really neat. It's really rewarding as a coaching staff when people really catch on to what you're trying to teach and want to be good at it. "Coaches have done a good job teaching, players are doing a good job buying into it. When you're in the room and people are interacting it's even better, a tremendous trust level. It's been really good." The Wolverine: Sophomore Grant Newsome was with your first group at left tackle in Florida. Will he stay there, and what are the expectations? Drevno: "Putting him at left tackle … as a line coach you're coaching positions trying to find the best fit. We came in last year and moved [fifth-year senior] Ben Braden from right tackle to left guard, [fifth-year senior] Erik Magnuson to right tackle. It just feels like that's the best fit, just how those five guys work together. "Grant's gotten stronger. [Strength coach] Kevin Tolbert and his staff have done a great job. I'm seeing maturity in his eyes. He's doing a good job, right on schedule." The Wolverine: Losing center Graham Glasgow to the NFL has left a void. Junior Mason Cole has been working at center to compete with redshirt junior Pat Kugler — what do you expect from that position? Drevno: "I like what I see. I think in spring ball you roll out the balls, try people at different positions. It's not like we're playing the first game Saturday, so we're going to try to see where people fit best. I'm really pleased with what he's do- ing, and Pat is also doing a good job." — Chris Balas MAIZE AND BLUE NOTEBOOK ROSSI BRUNO HEADED FOR MSG Michigan senior Rossi Bruno, a 133-pound wrestler, ear ned his ticket to New York 's Madison Square Garden for the NCAA Wrestling Championships March 17-19.
