FROM OUR READERS • [Big Ten commissioner Jim] Delany's interview on the Big Ten Network after the selection … he goes over all the teams in the tournament without mentioning Michigan, then this guy mentioned Ohio State, Northwestern and Nebraska as teams on the rise that have bright futures. He does not mention Michigan once. Michigan is one of the biggest universities in the world and a massive draw to the Big Ten and he "forgets" to mention that they had a tough season and pushed hard at the end to make the dance. He never utters a word about Michigan? He mentions Northwestern, Nebraska and OSU who didn't make the tournament! This guy has no clue. LeroyHoard33 • What is it with ESPN and Michigan? I'm sitting here now and they are pinning our year against Monmouth and asking the pundit, why Michigan? Why aren't they comparing Monmouth to Vandy, Syracuse, Butler, Wichita State, Temple, all of whom should have been behind Michigan. Why such an [enthusiasm] for bashing Michigan? It's downright maddening. Felix • Somebody told me that the reason ESPN is unfair to the Big Ten is because of the Big Ten Network. ESPN was vehemently against BTN coming to fruition. Not sure if there is any truth to it. But I don't watch much ESPN anymore. Most national sports reporters annoy me to no end. Their SEC bias is another reason. Never a mention of the cheating that goes on down there. But they beat the Shane Morris/Brady Hoke concussion story beyond death. mikev66 • I think that [senior safety] Dymonte Thomas is going to be more of a center fielder this year and may get himself a bunch of picks. I actually think the entire secondary (except, ironically, Jabrill Peppers, who'll likely be tighter to the line of scrimmage) is going to surprise with more takeaways this year. Thomas got close on a few last year, and I thought he showed great ability to cover ground. Our new defensive coordinator is going to make teams try to go over the top, so I believe that the opportunity is going be there and I'm betting that Dymonte is the guy who steps up. martyk SEND YOUR LETTERS TO: Wolverine Letters • P.O.
