■ football recruiting also caught 13 passes for 158 yards and two scores. Rivals.com ranks Mercer as a three-star recruit, the No. 77 prospect from Georgia and the No. 52 running back nationally in the 2013 class. Running back Dakwa Nichols Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond County High Nichols told The Wolfpacker that he remained firm with NC State throughout the transition. "I'm still 100 percent to NC State," he said. "First, they have a great football program. It's close to home, and also they have great academics, which I like a lot." Nichols rushed 92 times for 1,037 yards and 15 touchdowns despite playing just eight full games and parts of two more due to a nagging foot injury. The 5-10, 180-pounder is listed as a threestar recruit by Rivals.com. Defensive lineman Desmond Owino Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy For the second time in his recruitment, Owino has seen the school he pledged to make a coaching change. He originally picked UNC last year while a senior at Raleigh Sanderson High, but when then interim head coach Everett Withers did not get the full-time position, Owino switched to NC State. The Nairobi, Kenya, native enrolled at Hargrave to improve his academic transcripts. Since O'Brien's firing, Miami and Texas Tech have tried to start recruiting Owino. The 6-4, 260-pounder said that he still considers himself a NC State commitment, but he will keep his options open. Linebacker Quinton Patterson Shelby (N.C.) Crest Patterson (6-0, 215) was named to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game after helping Crest go 10-3 in 2012. He has stated that he would like to see linebackers coach Jon Tenuta retained, but Patterson is expected to remain committed to NC State. Wide receiver Kyrin Priester Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood High Priester, who caught 10 touchdown passes this season, originally told multiple media outlets that his commitment to NC State may be tied in with the future of wide receivers coach Troy Walters. Doeren, though, has effectively reached out to Priester. "He asked me to stay committed till I get to meet him and get a feel for him," Priester said, adding that he is obliging with Doeren's wish. • comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services for individuals. • Full service plan management for profit Sharing/401k plans. • consulting for corporate retirement plans and non-profits. www.Guardianca.com Proud suPPorter of the WolfPack since 1996 guardian capital adviSOrS, llc 3948 brOwning place, Suite 200 • raleigh, nc 27609 ph: (919)782-7619 tOll free: (800) 948-6761 e-Mail: info@guardianca.com SecuritieS Offered thrOugh triad adviSOrS, MeMber Finra/Sipc and adviSOry ServiceS Offered thrOugh guardian capital adviSOrS, LLc, a regiStered inveStMent adviSer.
