Anya's ability to dominate on the defensive end always impressed Moxley. "He was blocking shots and rebounding," Moxley said. "He has unbelievable timing on shot blocking, and when he blocks them he doesn't throw them out of bounds. He controls almost like a Bill Russell, which is rare. "He has a little more post game than people give him credit for. He has great hands, and his reach is ridiculous. He can turn and dunk without getting more than a foot off the ground." The 6-9, 215-pound Washington had a whirlwind recruitment, eventually picking NCSU over Ohio State, Iowa State and Washington Sept. 23 during his one and only official visit. The lefty can play both power forward and center. Washington attended Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn., last year and averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks per game. He made the move to star-studded Brewster Academy for his post-graduate season. "Kyle is a big kid that keeps getting better and better," Gottfried said. "Every time you turn around, he looks better. He's gotten a little taller and is filling out." Washington attends the same prep school that produced current Wolfpack freshman forward T.J.
