82 ■ THE WOLFPACKER DEFENSIVE LINE BY MATT CARTER W ith the fifth overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb. Just 123 picks later, the rest of Chubb's teammates on that NC State defensive line were drafted. B.J. Hill (New York Giants) and Justin Jones (Los Angeles Chargers) went in the third round, and Kentavius Street (San Francisco 49ers) — despite tearing his ACL during a pre-draft workout — went in the fourth. Defensive line coach Kevin Patrick had already started the process of rebuilding that star-studded front in spring practice. Unfortunately for the second-year coach, injuries piled up. Notably defensive tackles Eurndraus Bryant, a senior, and Shug Frazier, a redshirt sophomore, missed a good chunk of spring. "We were decimated by a lot of changes," Patrick acknowledged. "We didn't have a whole lot of depth last year. After we lost the starting four, we don't have a whole lot of experience and depth this year. I think there's going to be a lot of moving pieces as we massage this thing to get to where we need to be.
