practice knowing who
the starting quarterback
will be.
The main talking
point at the position
this spring was whether
freshman and 2012 fivestar recruit Gunner Kiel
was going to challenge
current junior Tommy
Rees for the No.�� 2 spot
behind starting sophomore Everett Golson.
That issue was resolved during a March��7
meeting between head
coach Brian Kelly and
Kiel in which the quarterback indicated his
plans to transfer from
Notre Dame at the end
of the spring semester.
The decision came right
before spring break
(March�� 9-17), with
spring practice set to begin March 20.
