Staying Power Notre Dame pulled off a rare feat by retaining all 10 of its coaches this offseason By Dan Murphy W hile Bob Diaco���s defense rolled through its season of goal-line stands and touchdown-less games last fall, a sentiment of realism grew among Irish fans. Enjoy this unique defensive coordinator while you can. Diaco���s name was frequently tossed around as a head coaching candidate in December while his No.�� 1 scoring defense prepared to play Alabama. He interviewed with athletics directors at Boston College and California. Eventually, like all 10 of Notre Dame���s coaches this season, he decided to stay put. ���I really believe that I have the best job ��� best assistant coaching job in America,��� Diaco said in December. ���I love who Assistant head coach/defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Bob Diaco interviewed for head coaching positions at Boston College and California, but ultimately opted to stay put at Notre Dame. photo by joe raymond
