Head coach Brian Barnes asked the freshman in 2010 to figure out what she would like to accomplish at Notre Dame and put it in ink. She said she hoped one day to reach the Big East finals. Barnes asked her to reach a little higher. ���He told me to maybe push a little bit further,��� Chiang said. ���Goals aren���t supposed to be something you can easily attain, they���re supposed to be something you might not achieve.��� The message apparently didn���t sink in. Chiang revised her goals to include a Big East title at some point during her career. Four months later, she checked that one off the list with her first gold medal from the three-meter board. As an encore, she set a record the following season when judges awarded her a score of 337.40 ��� the highest ever total at the conference���s championship meet. Chiang challenged herself as a junior. She added a full flip ��� going from two-and-a-half to three-and-ahalf rotations ��� on the most straightforward of the six dives she performs at each meet. She stacked another conference gold medal on top of the others that year and came in one spot shy
