fan forum Those mistakes will happen and they should be corrected afterwards on the practice field and in the meeting room. Do the Irish want to build and maintain the program every year on athletic, running QBs who will always struggle with reading and picking apart defenses and making all the throws on time? Or would the Irish rather build and maintain the program with the top pro-style passing QBs (Brady Quinn Jimmy Clausen, Dayne Crist or the departed Gunner Kiel) every year? Maybe it's time for a new offensive playbook, recruiter and offensive coach. Tony Soldo Hobe Sound, Fla. QB Quandary Whenever something the magnitude of losing starting quarterback Everett Golson happens, I scratch my head wondering why the culprit chose the wrong option himself and, in effect, spoiled what appeared to be a very bright future. Everyone gets hurt, including teammates, family and Notre Dame itself. Tommy Rees will do an adequate job of leading the Irish to a positive season, but possibilities of any 2012 repeat is fantasy. The offense now naturally precludes any play calling for the quarterback to run options, thereby severely limiting the play calling and making Rees a sitting duck for any substantial pass rush. The defense will do a good job of keeping us in most games, but the ob- vious lack of a complete offensive production will ensure some losses that may otherwise have been wins. Florian A. "Sock" Sokolowski Dayton, Ohio School of Hard Knocks I loved the Point/Counterpoint in the June/July issue of BGI. I contend the best possible reality TV show would be a college version of NFL's Hard Knocks. Last year's "Onward Notre Dame" leading up to the game against Miami in Chicago was great. Getting behind the scenes into the structure of practice and the personalities of the coaches and players is fascinating. While a Hard Knocks type of reality show could potentially be a distraction, I believe that with Coach Kelly's political operative background and ability to structure things so well it would be a great opportunity to keep things fresh entering a season with so much intrigue given the way last year ended and all the off-field incidents. Hard Knocks with the Fighting Irish. Talk about must-see TV. Sean Kennedy Medford, N.J. be heard! Send your letters to: Letters Blue & Gold Illustrated P. O.
