46 THE WOLVERINE JANUARY 2023   FOOTBALL RECRUITING 17. DL BROOKS BAHR WILMETTE (ILL.) LOYOLA ACADEMY On3 Consensus Ranking: Mid three-star EJ's Ranking: Mid three-star EJ's Evaluations: Game, Practice (Three), Film EJ's Scouting Report: A massive prospect at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds with a high motor. Goal for Michigan this cy- cle was to get longer in the trenches, and Bahr certainly checks that box. Has plenty of brute strength and gets a nice push on a consistent basis. Can get caught up with blockers. Needs to improve his hands and learn to use his length to his advantage. Projects as a three-technique and can play at more than 300 pounds. Recently experienced a growth spurt and is still getting adjusted to his body. Will need at least a couple of years to continue to develop physically and put it all together. Limited athletically and has heavy feet. 18. EDGE AYMERIC KOUMBA PARIS, FRANCE (PPI) On3 Consensus Ranking: Low three-star EJ's Ranking: Low three-star EJ's Evaluations: Film EJ's Scouting Report: One of the toughest prospects to grade this cycle, Koumba is an intriguing international prospect with a high ceiling. Shows ex- cellent athleticism and power but still very much a work in progress. Will need to spend extra time devel- oping technique and getting adjusted to a massive step up in level of compe- tition. Does have an impressive build with the length Michigan desires in its pass rushers. Will have to develop for multiple years before seeing significant playing time. 19. EDGE BREEON ISHMAIL CINCINNATI PRINCETON On3 Consensus Ranking: Low three-star EJ's Ranking: Low three-star EJ's Evaluations: Film EJ's Scouting Report: A tall line- backer at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, Ishmail is a raw athlete with position flexibility. Shows quality speed and athleticism. Can get sideline to sideline and looks comfortable in coverage, recording multiple interceptions as a senior. Has experience playing a traditional Mike linebacker role, outside linebacker and defensive end. Will need to con- tinue to bulk up. Has a lanky frame and doesn't necessarily have the strength and power desired at linebacker. Could move to edge. Versatility and athleticism are there, but a definite ball of clay with a lack of technique. 20. QB KENDRICK BELL KANSAS CITY (MO.) PARK HILL On3 Consensus Ranking: Low three-star EJ's Ranking: Low three-star Brooks Bahr helped lead Wilmette (Ill.) Loyola Academy to a Class 8A championship his senior year. He had 49 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in 2022. PHOTO BY EJ HOLLAND 2023 Michigan Signees Player Pos. Rating* Ht. Wt. Hometown (High School) Brooks Bahr DL HHH 6-6 280 Wilmette, Ill.
