FOOTBALL RECRUITING to National Signing Day in February. CORDELL BROADUS, WR 6-2, 195, Las Vegas (Bishop Gorman) 247Sports Rankings: Four-star player, No. 122 overall pros- pect in the land, No. 12 wide receiver in the country and No. 1 re- cruit in Nevada. The Skinny: It has al- ways been a four-team race for the U.S. Army All-American wide receiver — Flor- ida State, Notre Dame, UCLA and USC. Sources close to the situation believe he will end up staying on the West Coast and playing for the Bru- ins or the Trojans. However, Notre Dame has a commitment from his high school teammate, safety Nicco Fertitta, and the Irish are in the mix to flip tight end Aliz'e Jones from UCLA. There is potential that all three could end up with Notre Dame come National Signing Day. TEVON CONEY, LB 6-1, 222, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (Palm Beach Gardens) 247Sports Rankings: Four-star pros- pect, No. 10 inside linebacker nationally and No. 39 player in Florida. The Skinny: This has been a Florida-Notre D a m e b a t t l e f o r months. Coney was perceived to be a lock to the Gators early on his recruitment, but that all changed when he picked up an offer from the Irish. He visited South Bend in June and was on campus for the Irish Invasion. Coney returned to Notre Dame for an official visit Sept. 6 and watched the Irish beat Michigan 31-0. He will take an official visit to Florida Oct. 11, and a decision is likely to come shortly after that. It's a close battle, and Co- ney picking either school wouldn't come as a major surprise. SOSO JAMABO, RB 6-2, 210, Plano, Texas (Plano West) 247Sports Rankings: Four-star recruit, No. 67 overall player in the nation, No. 3 running back in the land and No. 10 pros- pect in Texas. T h e S k i n n y : N o t r e Dame is hoping to land its top running back target, but it won't be done without a fight from Texas A&M, Oregon, UCLA and a few others. Jamabo is one of the nation's pre- mier running backs and he has done nothing but dominate throughout his senior season. Jamabo rushed for 484 yards in one game and then followed that up with a seven-touchdown per- formance in another. Jamabo took an official visit to South Bend when Notre Dame hosted Michigan and was admittedly blown away by everything. The Irish lead for his services, but a decision isn't expected until the end of Oc- tober.
