FOOTBALL RECRUITING IMAN MARSHALL, CB 6-1, 190, Long Beach, Calif. (Poly) 247Sports Rankings: Five-star player, No. 6 overall prospect in the land, No. 1 cor- n e r b a c k n a t i o n a l l y and No. 2 recruit in California. The Skinny: The percep- tion surrounding the recruitment of the elite cornerback is that it will be a major shock if Marshall doesn't end up at USC. The Trojans are right down the road from Marshall's home, and he is admittedly a USC fan. He's been on campus multiple times and is close with many current Trojan players. However, the Under Armour All- American continues to say that one of his final official visits prior to Na- tional Signing Day will be to Notre Dame. The Irish staff is hoping to get him on campus for a game late in the season or for the annual banquet in December. If Marshall makes it to South Bend, anything is possible. YKILI ROSS, WR/CB 6-2, 185, Riverside, Calif. (Polytechnic) 247Sports Rankings: Four-star pros- pect, No. 85 overall recruit in the country, No. 8 wide receiver in the nation and No. 14 player in California. The Skinny: This contin- ues to look like it will be another close battle between Notre Dame and USC. Ross and his family are Trojans football fans, and he has been to USC's cam- pus on multiple occasions. However, he spent four days in South Bend this summer and the Irish made a major move for the West Coast recruit. The original plan was for Ross to take an official visit to Notre Dame when the Irish hosted Stanford Oct. 4, but that fell through since he hadn't taken his SAT yet. Per NCAA rules, a student-athlete must take the SAT at least once prior to taking any official visits. The Notre Dame staff is still confident he visits at some point this season, and it's expected that Ross returns to South Bend when Notre Dame hosts Louisville Nov. 22. EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN, WR 6-5, 205, Anaheim, Calif. (Servite) 247Sports Rankings: Three-star recruit, No. 53 wide receiver in the nation and No. 55 recruit in Califor- nia. The Skinny: The Irish find themselves in an- other tight race with two major programs in California. Notre Dame, Stanford and USC are the three schools with the best chance to land the talented wide receiver. St. Brown first visited South Bend on June 10 and returned to campus for an official visit when Notre Dame hosted Stanford on Oct. 4. While it is typically difficult to land a recruit from the West Coast with offers from all of the major schools, sources close to the situation state
