UNDER THE DOME • With Notre Dame now in the ACC as a partial football member, visits to The Sunshine State will be more common. It played at Florida State last season, is slated to be in Jacksonville in 2016 and visits Mi- ami to play the Hurricanes Nov. 11, 2017. It then hosts Florida State Nov. 10, 2018. • Notre Dame has a home-and- home with the University of Texas in 2015-16, opening at Austin in 2016 before facing Army in San An- tonio Nov. 12, 2016 (the week after the Navy game) for the Shamrock Series outing. It will be its third visit to Texas for the Shamrock Se- ries, having been in San Antonio in 2009 (vs. Washington State) and in Arlington in 2013 (vs. Arizona State). According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Shembo admitted to kicking his then-girlfriend's dog, a Yorkshire terrier belonging to Denicia Williams, after she had left the dog in his possession on April 15. When she returned, she found the dog unresponsive, and Shembo admitted to kicking it more than once. He told authorities the dog had bitten him. The animal sustained significant injuries, including a fractured rib, abdominal hemorrhage, head trauma and more. The veterinarian at Duluth Animal Hospital in Georgia reportedly gave the dog a shot to "try to help," but it died from a brain aneurysm. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reported that Shembo considered fleeing the United States in fear of his pending punishment. The fourth-round draft pick played in all 16 games for Atlanta last season at linebacker and was credited with 59 tackles (33 solo).
