BASKETBALL RECRUITING of people. "The gym was really nice. I didn't think it would be like that. I've seen it on TV, but the gym was really nice, the locker room, the players' lounge." And The Big House "was awe- some," he added. Bailey plans to sign a letter of intent somewhere before he leaves on his mission, which will remain valid until his enrollment two years later. WOLVERINES EXTEND FIRST 2017 OFFERS Michigan head coach John Beilein and his staff are selective with their offers, waiting until players visit cam- pus before they decide whether or not to extend them. That fact wasn't lost on Milwaukee Rufus King's Jordan Poole, the Wolverines' first offeree in the 2017 class. Both Beilein and Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan visited Poole's school in September after watching him closely over the summer. They determined the 6-3 shooting guard with point guard skills to be a great fit, and they encouraged him to get to campus as soon as he could. He arrived in Ann Arbor for the Sept. 26 weekend, during which he picked up his offer. "It was awesome," Poole said of the experience, which included taking in Michigan football's win over BYU. "We got up there Saturday morning right before the game, and I saw ev- erything they had. It was nice, beauti- ful. Michigan, that's big time. "Everything about the campus was just amazing — the academics, the facilities … it reminded me of home." Poole first heard from the Wolver- ines in the summer, when he shined for Wisconsin Playground Elite AAU.
