Glasgows Continue Brothers Tradition At Michigan In 2006, The Wolverine wrote about brothers that had played at Michigan for our annual Football Preview magazine. Our top five ranking of U-M football- playing siblings was: • No. 1 T Francis (1931-33), T Albert (1940-42) and T Alvin Wistert (1947-49) • No. 2 HB Bump (1946-47) and QB Pete Elliott (1945-48) • No. 3 DL Mike (1981-85) and OL Mark Hammerstein (1983-86) • No. 4 DB Don (1973-75) and OL Bill Dufek (1974-78) • No. 5 LB Mike (1982-85), S Doug (1984-87) and LB Curt Mallory (1989-90) Graham and Ryan Glasgow would currently rank fifth, displacing the Mallorys, with the opportunity to unseat the Dufeks and, potentially, even the Ham- mersteins, though Mike was an All-American defensive tackle and team MVP in 1985 and Mark was an All-Big Ten first-team performer at offensive guard in his senior year. What makes the Glasgows stand out is that they have been equally impres- sive. In most of the other brother combos, one sibling has towered over the other(s), with the exceptions of the Wisterts and Elliotts — all five were All- Americans. Fifth-year senior center Graham Glasgow has started 31 games in his career and defen- sive tackle brother Ryan says he is one of the toughest two centers he's ever had to face. PHOTO BY BRANDON BROWN
