FOOTBALL RECRUITING land, and the No. 2 offensive guard and No. 50 overall prospect nation- ally. He has long favored Michigan, but Alabama, Georgia, and UCLA will get post-season official visits before the 6-4, 307-pounder makes a Na- tional Signing Day decision. Mesquite (Texas) North Mesquite product Jean Delance is the No. 15 senior in Texas and the No. 155 over- all prospect nationally, and is more a true offensive tackle (the position at which he's the No. 12 prospect in the country) than is Davis. The 6-5, 270-pounder lists Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M as his finalists, and doesn't yet have a timeline set of a decision. Late January — which would allow him to take his remaining three official visits, after seeing LSU and Michigan the first two weekends in the month — is a possibility. Bush won't be the only linebacker of U-M note in Orlando, Fla. Houston Alief Elsik four-star Dontavious Jack- son is also a prime U-M target. The 6-2, 238-pounder, who is a four-star recruit and the No. 36 senior in Texas, took an official visit to Ann Arbor for the Wolverines' regular-season finale against Ohio State Nov. 28. Peters rocketed up the rankings on the heels of an outstanding se- nior season in which he passed for 3,103 yards and 37 touchdowns. He entered the year as the No. 9 pro- style passer and No. 242 overall pros- pect nationally, and finished at No. 5 and No. 140, respectively. The 6-4, 195-pounder is also a candidate for the Army Game's Player of the Year award, which will be given on the eve of the game. Onwenu's movement in the rank- ings went in the opposite direction. He dominated the summer camp circuit, but showed during his se- nior season at Cass Tech that he has to refine his technique to be as suc- cessful in college. Initially the No. 83 player nationally, he dropped to No. 157, though he's still No. 7 among offensive guard prospects. The 6-3,
